Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
The Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417) allows eligible young adults from participating countries to live, work and travel throughout Australia for up to 12 months. Whether you want to explore Australia's beaches, work in hospitality or travel across the country, the Working Holiday Visa offers an exciting way to make Australia your home away from home.
You may be eligible for the Working Holiday Visa if you are between 18 and 30 years of age (or up to 35 for certain eligible countries, including France), hold a passport from a participating country, meet the health and character requirements, have sufficient funds to support yourself on arrival, and do not have dependent children accompanying you. With this visa you may stay in Australia for up to 12 months, work while travelling, study for up to 4 months, travel freely in and out of Australia, gain valuable international work experience and explore future migration opportunities.
